On the use of text-balloons
I’ve changed the appearance of the text-balloons a bit when I started the next installment of this comic. There is a dropshadow on the balloons to separate them a bit more from the background and I also use a smaller pixel-size so I have a bit more freedom with the amount of text. Besides that my other ‘rules of thumb’ have remained the same like no part of the text-balloon can touch or obscure the characters.
Once in a while I’ll try new things. I’m experimenting a bit with bold words. I saw this in the phenomenal graphic novel “Bone”, and I thought I’d give it a try. It does seem to liven up the language, but I still have to get a feel for how to use bold words in this.
In other news, I’ve been down with the flu the last couple of days, not the way I imagined 2017 would start 🙁 . On the other hand I did find time to make a couple of photo’s more than expected, so that’s good 🙂 . How has your year been this first week of the year?

I love to hear the fact that you attach so much importance to small things like text ballons… So many webcomics writters tend to care only about the story, other the art… The fact that you care about both the story, the art and the small thing around… That shows how much you respect your readers and not just doing a webcomic for yourself…
Why is the arcade video game a bit crooked?
Thx!
It’s probably crooked because one of the legs has broken, or there is a hole in the floor, or… Well, the whole house is kinda a mess. Despite what Kemi says, I wonder if it even works haha.
