2-083 Abuse of power
There you go. He’s making her stronger … no! She decided she needed to be stronger, it has nothing to do with him besides acting as an argument in favour of deciding to change.
Changing my mind
You probably noticed that every episode comes with a quote if you hover over the episode. The one from today I really like. I used to be a person that had… well… ‘difficulties’ changing his mind. And then I changed my mind.
I working on change. More rest in my head, working on my fysique, developing the skills that I feel were underdeveloped and adapting a few deeply seated mindsets and defence mechanisms that were in overdrive. All in all, it’s a strange feeling, but I’m loving it. And I am seeing so much more than I was missing, whilst seeing so much less I thought I was seeing. Hmm, this sounds bigger than it actually is. But all changes start small. Let’s see where this will lead me.
Does this sound familiar to you? Have you had a period in your life (except from puberty) were you worked hard on changing?

I never knew there were quotes hidden in your post. I love this little detail!
Yes, I went through a huge upheaval a few years ago. I read many books in an attempt to find a measure of happiness in my life. My favorite take aways were: we are all in our own boats, maybe we tie them up to other people for a while, but we are still in our own boat; and ultimately responsible for ourselves. The other is that you only have to change direction 1-2 degrees to make a huge change in the long run. The change doesn’t have to be drastic.
I wish you all the best on your current journey. Change is hard, but its great to look back and know you did it. 🙂
Thank you for you kind words, I’m looking forward to looking back someday :). Also thanks for sharing your story! It’s always good to realise that there are so many people that reach that point in their life where they think something has to change. Yet, it seems only few actually dare changing themselves, let alone identify it’s themselves that needs changing. It takes courage to do so and persistence to keep with the changes until they really become internalised.
I love the boat metaphor btw, never heard of it. the 1-2 degree direction-change is one I’ll keep in the back of my mind. Though the changes seem small, I already notice a huge impact on myself and others alike.
I’ve heard that there was an old Russian army saying, back in the soviet days. “That which doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. That which *does* kill you, makes your mother stronger.”
Russians 🙂
Though I understand the sentiment, and maybe I’m wrong on this one, but I think it would devastate my mother if she survived her kids.
Wow looks like I’m late!
Most of the time I think a new hair cut or a new pair of sneakers will do the trick… I don’t remember taking big turns in my life on purpose.
I grew a beard years ago… That’s pretty much about it LOL. I always wanted to do that actually but my bosses wouldn’t let me do LOL… I’m free!!
I like the fact that blondie is a deeper character than when she was first introduced to us. Pleasant surprise.
This time I don’t agree with you. This goes way beyond a new hair cut… or sneakers.
A beard is cool though 🙂
